| Dear Web Site Guests, |
Welcome to my Web Site. I'd like to introduce myself. Here are some excerpts
from a recent interview.
What Inspires Your Music?
Life has seen me through some very interesting highs and lows. I believe
that I have witnessed and played a part in some seedy, some virtuous, and
odd sides and dimensions of our curious world. Depth of experience and colorful
existence is translated poetically through my music. Some may be soothed
when emotional music is played knowing that they are not alone in their
experiences. I would like to have that effect upon others.
Where do you hail from?
I was born in San Jose, California and I have basically lived my whole life
in the Silicon Valley. What I love about my home town is that it is metropolitan
and diverse. It also has a rich heritage and history: the valley used to
be known as the Valley of Heart's Delight and was once rich in agriculture.
I love nature and the most spectacular views can be found here if you know
where to look for them.
What is Your Musical Influences?
Music was always a monumental part of my upbringing. Growing up, my family
listened to music of all genres. With such a diversity of musical influences
it might be interesting to guess what I sound like and understand why I
write songs in different categories. My house was so full of music that
you would have thought a DJ lived there and never left.
Vocal training?
I have studied voice in high school and at Santa Clara University. (I graduated
with a bachelors in Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism.)
My music is not based on theory and has enabled me to free flow and create
the unexpected in harmony and melody writing. I go places that have not
been explored perhaps in a new way because no one told me I was not supposed
to go there...Don't believe them when they say that everything has already
been written before. I usually make up songs when I hear a rhythm in my
head. However, I also hear music in the simple sounds of buses, trains,
cars, birds, rivers, oceans, and crickets; have you ever heard the rhythm
of a copy machine? .
To whom do you owe your appreciation?
I would like to send out a special thanks to Mark Stein of I'm Stein Recording (http://www.myspace.com/imsteinrecording) for supporting me in this project, and believing in me. I so appreciate his extended assistance in putting all my bits and pieces together for the finale and outcome of this project. A special thanks goes to Scotty Smith of Songfellowz (http://www.whiterabbitrecordingstudio.com). Thank you to additional recording engineers: Guy Grimstead, Andrew Seidel, and Glen Douglas. The courtesy, efficiency, and overall talent of Jason Kasznar of AgileWebDesigns.com will always be appreciated by my family. He created this wonderful web site. And above all, thank you mother for designing "over the top" CD's with your graphic art skills, your financial and emotional support and for being a total genius. I would like to send appreciation to family and friends as well. Also, thank you for life's ugly and happy moments for within the darkest and the lightest times inspiration
Where have you played out at?
I have performed at various clubs and festivals around the Bay Area and
have also been heard on the local radio. In the coming year I will have
updates as to where and when I will be playing.
And if you are wondering, Before I publish my songs - YES! I do want a recording
contract with a credible label.
I love singing and songwriting. Peace and love to all.
Happy Listening!
